Come January 4, 2010 I would have completed nine years of working in STI! Time really flies fast and one of the things we all look forward to are the parties that we have. From the time I was new until our party last December 18, 2009 nothing has changed, just pure fun and excitement. This year HROD made the party a little loose as its theme is the STI Pajama Party.
One of the Christmas Presentations
Our Christmas party has only three components. The awarding ceremonies for the employees who have rendered five, ten, fifteen and twenty years of service to the company. I felt so old since the five year awardees are some of the employees who I seem new to me but surprisingly have been with the company for five years now. Amazing.
STI Friends
The other component of our Christmas party is the inter division competition. Besides the usual Sportsfest that pits employees from different divisions, here the company was divided into four groups namely Academics, Corporate Informations Services, Communications and Finance and Channel Management together with the office of the COO and Office of the President. Just like last year, Academics took top honors, then followed by CIS, our group and the CMD group. First prize is twelve thousand pesos. This is the fourth straight year that Academics has won the plum.
Mah Gurls
The last component is Party time in which the dance floor becomes the refuge of all STIers. Just like what I mentioned, the players are different but the intensity and fun in dancing has never changed through the years. It is nice to note that a lot of people look forward to this everytime we party. The booze and food are all secondary, the dance party always takes center stage. After the smoke has cleared I only had aching feet and hips. But it is all worth it.
