Dolphy Aid para sa PInoy

Filipinos love to laugh and if there is one thing that more that we can say that has been constant in our lives is a comedian who has given laughter for more than 7 decades in our country. I am talking about the King of Comedy in the Philippines, Rodolfo Vera Quizon - more popularly known as Dolphy. He has become a constant in the lives of every Filipino and most of us grew up watching him make us laugh specially my personal favorite, the John and Marsha series which has become a part of lives back then.

Dolphy started out as a stage performer and eventually moved to movies and televisions several years after. His wit, humor and impeccable comedic timing made him a cut above the rest of the comedians of his time. Names like Panchito, Pugo, Tugo, Chiquito, and Babalu were all ranged with him but eventually were not a match to his comedic prowess. That is something that the comedians admit and most Filipinos know. Unfortunately though, he has outlived all his contemporaries and friends.

When Dolphy turned 80 in July of 2008, a foundation was founded in his name - the Dolphy Aid Para sa Pinoy. Dolphy has said that he himself toiled on foreign lands and that he respects the plight of Overseas Filipino Workers because he himself was one. The Dolphy Foundation aims to pay tribute to OFW's by providing scholarships to qualified children of our country's modern day heroes. This is where my beloved company, STI comes in because STI is the educational partner of the foundation.

During the STI Foundation's Childlike Christmas celebration at the NIDO Science Discovery Center, the Quizon Brothers were in full force as Eric, Epi, Vandolph and wife Jenny all came to the aid of the children. They even helped out in serving the food and having pictures with the kids. It is so nice to see these showbiz personalities carrying out what their father has started. The King of Comedy should be proud of his sons, he raised them up to become mature, responsible and caring individuals and I am glad that we have partnered with them.
