Mark your calendars, July 18, 2009 is the opening of the 9th Season of the National Athletic Association of SChools COlleges and Universities. The NAASCU has bucked the odds, is now recognized legitimately as the third league and is still growing. Just recently the NAASCU held a series of meetings to plan out season 9 of the growing league. The first part of the planning session was held in a scenic spot in San Juan La Union, the Scenic View Tourist Inn. This tourist destination is owned and managed by University of Manila EVP Atty. Ernesto delos Santos.
Just this month we made a follow up on the meetings as the Board met at the Lyceum of Subic College inside the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA). I was lucky that my friend Rezyl Santiago joined me so that the trip and the sites were not that boring alone. What was agreed upon is that the NAASCU wars will start on July 18 at the Cuneta Astrodome and the games will be played simultaneously in two venues. STI will face St. Clare College first but the game will be at the Pasay basketball Court just near the Astrodome.
The best treat for us was lunch since Mr. Borda treated us to the best steak lunch in the Subic free port. Thanks for that and we do hope that your generosity will extend to the basketball court come July 18. Its NAASCU time come july.
