The STI College Olympians experienced some road blocks and had some pebbles in their shoes taken out. After winning three consecutive games with an average of 50 points, the Olympians took newcomer Lyceum of Subic Bay lightly and paid dearly. The Sharks beat the Olympians by three points thus relegating the defending champs to 7th place. But that changed right away as the Olympians won three straight with an average of 30 points which includied a 40 point win over erstwhile leader St. Clare College. Fortunately, the league is very unpredictable with upsets that shook up the standings. This worked in favor of the Olympians as they ended the eliminations with an 8-3 slate to end up tied with 2006 champion AMACU Titans and relegated league leader St. Clare College. If you put the quotient system in effect for standing purposes, the Olympians will come out second while AMACU and St Clare will be third and fourth respectively.
Leading the league is the San Sebastian College Baycats who is just a game ahead at 9-2. Five-time Champion UM Hawks at fifth place is just two games away with a 7-4 slate together with the New Era University. While newcomers Lyceum of Subic Bay got the 7th seed while the Informatics Icons caught the last bus to the quarterfinals as the 8th team. Here are some scores of the Olympians in their last seven games.
