Olympians win one and lose one

The STI College Olympians lost to a determined Informatics team 64 - 65 but virtually eliminated Two time defending champion San Sebastian College Recoletos de Cavite 74 - 55 the next day. The tight defense being employed by the Icons made it hard for the Olympians to score as the Informatics team threatened to blow the game open as they took a 47 -35 lead in the third quarter. The Olympians quickly regrouped to threaten to within 2 45 - 47. Bryan Daguplo was whistled for an unsportsmanlike foul which gave the Icons more breathing room at the end of three 51- 45. In the fourth quarter, the Icons relied on rookie Jan Baltazar who scored a game high 16 points which gave the Eastwood based squad the victory.

The Olympians eventually vent their ire on the defending champion San Sebastian College Recoletos de Cavite team as they pounded the Baycats from start to finish. The biggest lead was at the end of three quarters where the Olympians led the Baycats 63 -36. The only thing not settled in the fourth quarter was the final score as the Olympians eliminated the Baycats which is their 12th win in 15 games. It was the 8th loss of the Cavite based Recoletos team, the most they have lost in the NAASCU.
