Krung Thai

This authentic restaurant is quite hard to find because it is at the heart of Marikina City and is just a stone's throw away from the Marikina Public Market. As you can see the sign of the restaurant is colored pink so in the morning you can see it but its quite not visible in the evening.

I am the type of person who goes early to places where parking is a problem. There is a paid parking space almost in front of the restaurant which is always full. If not you can turn right at the corner and there is another parking lot there. It's just quite unfortunate that you cannot park right in front of the restaurant.

For me Rice is an important part of any meal so their Bagoong Rice is quite the right one for me.

For me, the authenticity of a thai resataurant lies on their Tom Yung dish. As seen in this picture, the big bowl of Tom Yung looks delicious and is very tasty. When you get a sip from the bowl you will feel a sensation that is always there when you taste good food.

This one is a nice favorite of mine, the pork pulutan. The spiciness is just right and the taste makes you want to order more and will make you go back to Krung Thai.

The place has lots of things on sale which you can see at the back. The tables are mostly for four people and can accommodate 10 - 12 tables at a time. So better be early because if you are arrive at 12 noon for lunch or 7pm for dinner, chances are the place is packed. This is how the place looks like at 2:00 pm.

From the look on the faces, they had a great time and are very full from the authentic thai experience at Krung Thai.
