Bon Voyage Jeanne

It seems like ages since I met Jeanne Harn who was crowned Ms. STI 2001 years ago. She later transferred to IAcademy and her school was just two floors down my former office in Ayala.  There were times that she would visit me, we would share a few laughs and coffee and just have fun being with each other.

One thing nice about her is her disposition, confidence and ability to adapt to changes.  Jeanne seems to always have a plan whenever things go her way. I remember her asking me if it was better to join Mutya ng Pilipinas or Ms. Philippine-Earth. Well, in a casual manner I suggested the latter since it has become a very popular event the past few years.  Months later she texted me that she has joined and eventually won. With all the popularity, media attention and celebrity status Jeanne has never changed and remained the same way as I met her years ago.

Now that she is trying to pursue a new life by way of going to Canada, All I can say is that I wish her the best and I believe in a year's time I will be hearing a lot from the success that she is bound to discover there. With her pleasing personality, I believe that she will definitely make it big there and find a new home. Good for them, bad for us her friends. Hahaha. Good luck Jeanne and I pray that the Lord will continue to guide you there. Do remember that we are just a message away in facebook hehe.

Jeanne Harn's outreach Birthday Party

I have always described her as beautiful inside and out. Who would celebrate their birthdays by giving people they don't know a party and gifts at that. Only Jeanne Harn would do that. Its been three years since she was inspired by one of her friends to reach out to underprivileged people on her birthday. The idea became a reality three years ago when Jeanne hosted a party for people at the Golden Acres- a place where old people stay to wait for the Lord to get them.

Last year Jeanne treated Cancer patients at the National Children's Hospital to a party and it was a big party indeed. Coming from a small group the previous year, Jeanne's friends doubled which meant more gifts, food and more importantly people helping out.

This year, Jeanne chose the Tahanang Walang Hagdan to be the site of her 27th birthday. Jeanne together with some friends and her family were there early and prepared the food and also the entertainment. I myself helped out by hosting the affair together with Jeanne and brought along some of the all-star dancers for some entertainment.

One of the most notable guests Jeanne had was Karla Henry the 2008 Ms. Earth winner. She was very bubbly and energetic and very game. When the people asked her to sing she did not have any qualms in picking a song and singing her heart out eventhough dancing was more of her thing. But then again, its just for the fun of it and for me Karla really brought the house down.

It was really fun helping out and I was a bit happy that the guys at Tahanang Walang Hagdan enjoyed the jokes I shared with them. In the end I was very proud of my good friend Jeanne for the kind heart she has. I commend her and very happy that she really took the initiative to make this happen. Truly she makes the phrase "Beautiful inside and out!" an understatement!

Dinner with a Beauty Queen

Its so nice to keep in touch with friends who consider you special. Jeanne Harn and I have been friends since 2001 when as an emerging 18 year old beauty she bagged the Ms. STI 2001 Crown. A lot has changed since then, just last year she won the title of Ms. Philippines - Earth 2007. It was something she had hoped for and it all came true she is definitely one of the most sought after beauty queens in the country.

But the one true nice thing about it is that her kind heart is what actually makes her all the more beautiful. The past two years she has managed to celebrate her birthday with people who she actually does not know and extend a charitable hand to them. In 2007 she celebrated her birthday at the Golden Acres Home for the Aged. Last year she had it with cancer patient kids in the children's hospital. This year she will be at it again and the venue is at the Tahanang Walang Hagdan. Just read on for the details.
